Mr. and Mrs. D

So we were pretty domesticated after we got married! We moved into our first house rental (whew, apartments drove us crazy!) we set up Christmas tree's every year and posed in front of them for pictures (all we were missing was the matching red reindeer sweaters and hot coca!)


Both Brad and Angie were really getting settled into our careers, Angie as a Dental Assistant, and Brad as a Machinist. We hosted game nights and get togethers at "our place!"


We really did a lot of crazy stuff, like floating down the Yakama River for 3 hours during the day then turning around and doing it again... at midnight... in a plastic raft (somehow it seemed like a good idea at the time, even though certain beverages were on board and Angie isn't such a great swimmer! )

Brad decided to scare the wits out of Angie and jump off a 40 foot cliff that had painted peace signs and smiley faces all over it, and then swim against a strong current to get back into the raft. (No Angie does not have pictures of that because her eyes were tightly squeezed shut especially because everyone gasped when he jumped!)

Something was missing, we wanted to add to our little family, something for us to love so....

...we got a dog! Not just any dog, a GIZMO, he was a Yorkie, and if you ever met Gizmo, you would know exactly what I am talking about, he was crazy! Our first night with the puppy made us re-think our decision immediately, but he was so freakin cute!! Eventually the puppy grew and decided to punish us for going to work by chewing up everything in sight and barking even when the wind blew! (Angie still thinks to this day that the dog was more work than a baby!) Our favorite memory of Giz was when Angie went out and bought a Halloween Costume for him, we dressed him up and... well... needless to say he got a bit too happy about it, so, she never bought clothes for him again!

Brad and Ang took their Niece Emily, and Nephew Trevor to the zoo, that was a lot of fun! It was our first real experience with 2 three year-old at the same time, between figuring out how to get them in the car seats, potty breaks, fighting over who got to sit in what stroller, and lunch time, we actually saw animals, and no one got lost or went in their pants! It turned out to be a unforgettable trip for us all! (Angie sure is glad she begged her sister to come along, her help was invaluable!)

We kinda figured after this trip that if we can handle these 2 together at the zoo, we can handle having a little baby of our own! How hard can it be, right? (Oh, the joys of being totally oblivious!)

Apparently, a dog just wasn't cutting it for Brad and Angie, they wanted to add to their little family...

On February 14, 2007 Angie surprised Brad with a nice special dinner and a "Valentines Day Present!" that's when he found out he was going to be a daddy!! Boy was he excited, Angie still couldn't believe it herself and had to have the Dr.'s do a extra test, just in case!


We were going to wait until Angie was at least three months along to tell anyone, but who can do that?! We surprised our parents first by putting a cute little poem inside a Winne The Pooh frame. Everyone was so excited for the new baby! Angie's mom was the most in shock saying "I thought you were never going to have kids!" (She thought she ruined Angie because she always took care of her little Brother and Sister!)

Only 24 weeks?! How many more do I have left?!

June 26Th, 2007 Brad and Angie went on the Spirit of Washington Dinner Train for their Anniversary, it was beautiful and a bunch of fun, but being 5 months preggo, Angie doesn't think it's such a good idea, constant back and forth motion, combined with cramped space, and food did not equal a happy tummy, also, wine tasting might be frowed upon while pregnant!




While waiting for our healthy little baby girl we kept ourselves busy: finished the nursery (whew, that was one big relief when that was done!), became well educated on all subjects of a baby and labor (nothing, and no one can fully prepare you for what is about to come!), ate masses of applesauce, chocolate pudding, cheeseburgers, and apple chips (YUCK! But ohhhh so good when I was pregnant!), shopped for everything humanly possible to buy for baby (Angie's personal favorite, unfortunately it was mostly window shopping, good thing she dragged Brad around with her to keep her in check!) worked A LOT (The office Angie worked for just moved into a bigger space and it was BUSY, Angie worked so much she lost over 10 pounds at the beginning of her pregnancy!) Brad had just started at a new Machine shop earlier that year and he was working on a completely different schedule, and last but not least, while 6 months along, Angie fell and dislocated her knee...again...but this time it was bed rest!



Our baby Shower was so much fun! Friends and family came to welcome the little one, neither Brad or Angie could believe that Ella was almost due!! (OK.. Angie was freaking out, just a Little)

38 weeks!!! Shes almost here!! We just wanted her to come already, Angie could hardly breathe with out whining and her tummy felt like a soccer goal Ang got so big and uncomfortable she had to stop going to Physical Therapy because it was too hard to move and stretch! Little one is almost here... (stay tuned for the entrance of our biggest star Miss Ella Anne-Marie!)
